are there issues with the W7S drivers and Vista SP1?

after installing SP1, i noticed that my fan was always on full speed.

i usually leave my computer on power saving mode so that it doesn't go to full speed. so then i checked the power saving options and a lot of the options i had before are gone (for instance setting maximum cpu and video card speed)

Running Vista SP1 64-bit and no issues here.

I just use Power4Gear to sort my profiles out and didn't see any problems migrating to SP1. Normally the 'high performance' profile makes my fans spin full speed, though I'm not sure how your options have disappeared after SP1.

OP, did you install the ATK drivers correctly? They are needed for power management. If they are installed, try reinstalling.

There have been issues with Vista SP1, I don't remember now if anyone mentioned power management issues. You could try rolling back to the restore point before the SP1 --assuming there is a valid restore point--, and see if the problems go away. Then you could install updates one by one instead of as the service pack/in a single bunch, see which one breaks the power management.

You could also try a BIOS update.
