ok. so i'm having some trouble with the card reader and usb ports on my w7s.. not sure if it's software hardware or wat...

so anyways... i used to be able to read memory cards and usb sticks just fine. but now, whenever i insert one, windows says it needs to install some software/drivers for it to function. but it can never find the necessary software/drivers.

these things won't function if i press don't install.

does anyone know what the problem might be? i didn't reformat or anything

also... my cpu is constantly @ full speed... is there a service in windows that makes it so it adjusts speed based on what u are doing? bcuz my fan is always going on high speed when plugged in

    thanks.

    Looks like a Windows problem.

Maybe you can install the drivers manually, but that might not be so easy.

The easiest solution is to reinstall/recover Windows. Might not be the fastest though.

About the CPU: Check the details of the power profile you are under, there are sliders for min and max CPU speed.

i tried reinstalling drivers. but it didn't help.

i did not install any of the asus software that lets u choose profiles. but in windows, where u can choose those power saver/ high perf settings... i can' tadjust cpu speed

but i mean.. dont these cpus automatically adjust speed based on what ur doing? like those other mobile centrino cpus?

    If it's a non-celeron Intel or a non-entry-level AMD, it should.

    Edit: I mean celeron.
