Buying a G73JW from Tiger and wanted to know how they service is so I can make my mind which computer to keep, that one or the dv7t from HP with about the same specs.

Anything I should think of with Asus?

I had poor service from them with my graphics card. Never got hold of them and they never called me back...?

    Thanks

    George

i had a dead pixel out of the box, they said it would be a 2 day repair(the repair place is 2h drive from me so i said ok) after a week i called and they told me its a 14 business day repair, and hung up the phone. After the 14 business days they said the screen was a special order and they would be ordering it soon, instead of when they got the laptop.

I called everyday basically yelling at them because they were not doing anything, until i finally offered them to ship me my laptop or send me 1500 to get a different laptop because ill never buy asus anything ever again.

amazingly it was shipped 2 hours after they "closed for the day" apparently they sent a guy in to send it out.
i had the laptop for a week, they had it for a month, didnt seem fair then or now.

all in all its the worst service ive had in my life, and ive dealt with Bell Mobility.....

the laptop is amazing,(g73jh here) but the people suck.

I´ve had very good experience with asus warranty repair service. I bought my G51Vx-A1 from GenTech web store and shipped it from the USA to Estonia. It had a damaged GPU and when I contacted the local Asus representative I didn´t think they would repair it for free and that I would have to ship it back to the States (since they don´t sell ROG models here). Luckily they took it in and ordered a new GPU from the Netherlands or Korea (don´t know which). It took them about 5 days (including the time it took the laptop to ship to them and back and the time it took the gpu to reach Estonia) to repair and I only had to pay for one way shipping (about 7$).

I'm glad you had a good experience and also, it looks like I'll be keeping the Asus rather than the HP. I just got the HP today and frankly, I don't like it...

    Thanks

I've had much better experience with Asus than HP. Just had my GPU replaced, it was a 2-week turnaround and the service was satisfactory.

My experience was horrible. Sent in my laptop for a mousepad that did not work. Got back a laptop that would not turn on. Sent it back, got back a laptop that will not charge unless the cord is at the right angle. Promised 12 calls back, recieved 2. I will never buy another Asus.

I hear you. This is why we have always backed asus service. you are not alone. there are a few reputable dealers that stand by the product they sell before AND after the sale. We have been repairing asus notebooks for many years on a motherboard level. I hear these complaints all the time. When you buy from a dealer who stands by their product you do not have to go through this hell. In my signature i have free remnants for notebooks we have serviced and replaced in and out of warranty over the years. Always talk to your dealer and ask them for help.

Geared to Play, is says you BACKED them...do you mean you backed out from their service or something or am I misunderstanding anything?

Well, I've got the HP dv7t and now the Asus 73 and I think I'll like the Asus better so my question is, is anyone here actually saying I should send the Asus back because of lack of service? Mind you, having it doesn't mean I'll have problems but I'm also not a very lucky guy. I know no one can give me that kind of advice but I was curious.

Also, as I said earlier, the one product I've called them about, I never got a reply on or help with 'cause I could NEVER reach them and my messages went unreturned so to speak.

I bought mine from Tigerdirect? Is sending it to you an option for me?

I assume the warranty is the same? Two years and one year accident coverage..

    THanks
