Hey all,
So, it was *sort* of a surprise that my z70va came today... I almost had a hayday w/ UPS. I had ordered from G2P w/ 2 day UPS. It shipped on 3/3 and was supposed to arrive on 3/7 (first of all, wasn't it supposed to arrive on 3/6? They work on saturday... doesn't quite make sense to me). ANYWAYS, apparently there was a mixup in Seattle:
This started to worry me.. I really wanted the laptop (I'm impatient, plus I leave on fri. for spring break which was the whole reason for me jumping on this... so it would push loading it another day).
Even though there was a mixup, it arrived in pullman (where I live) at 9:30 am. I checked early this morning and it said RESCHEDULED... I started to worry... why would it be pushed back a day if it was IN MY CITY?!!! So, at noon I went to the UPS 'hub' to see if it was sitting there. I was told by a nice lady that there wasn't anything she could do even if it was sitting right behind her. She said if it was in pullman it was on a truck and it would be delivered today or tomorrow.
At this point I figured all was lost, and that I would have to call UPS and hassle them to get my shipping refunded from the 2 day air. At about 1:20pm I hear a knock on my door and think... noooo it can't be. But low and behold it was the UPS lady I have come to know after all my packages.
WOOO!!! so excited. I decided to do a sort of photo documentary (pics to come later) of me opening it, etc... It was so hard to keep from just ripping it open.
Anyways, it's installing windows right now. I must say I am VERY impressed thus far. This is my first laptop and don't really have any first hand experience (besides brief use of one). But I am very impressed. Something I noticed about the screen is that it is almost glossy. It is almost in between a matte and gloss finish.. I mean I can see a reflection from the side of it. I cannot do this w/ my Dell 2005FPW. The screen looks very nice as far as I can tell, but won't really be able to tell till I get into windows. I didn't notice any creaking or noises that were louder than expected... so no problems there. Everything looks very nice and I would like to thank Eddie for all his help.
I had been shopping for a laptop since about last oct/ nov and had been drooling over the z70va ever since. I finally pulled the trigger and I have absolutely no regrets so far... hopefully it stays that wayI am normally a very picky person when it comes to electronics, I am also one to wipe off the unit every 5 mins.
Anyways, pics to come later... time to mess w/ my new toy!![]()

Ooooooooooooh yeah baby, nice buy~!
Hope you take lots of pics without the flash in good lighting to show off the Z70Va's true beauty.
You've gotta say it's a bit bigger than you expected eh? I kinda like that fact.
Anyhoo' enjoy and treat her well, OH, and if you are the type to wipe your baby off every 5mins like I am as well then you should think about getting your hands on one of those Asus keyboard dusters. You get one as a gift when you send it in for repairs or something like that. I got one.
I say just send your laptop in and say something is wrong when there isn't and get one.
Cheers,
