Does anyone have a laptop with WSGA+(1440x900) or WSXGA+(1680x1050) resolution? can you post a screendump? I am interested to see how much difference there is (how much more space you get).. Is the higher resolution better to work with in digital photos? how about webdesign and internet browsing?
any drawbacks with the higher resolution?

Well it seems like your comparing the A8jp/A8js with the V1JP/G1 in terms of resolution and screen size.
Here's my review on the G2P, but it shows a 17" with 1440x900 vs the G1, 15.4" with 1650x1080.

When you compare the G2 and G1 in terms of screen and resolution, the G1 is much nicer, while the G2 all the text and icons look rather big. But on a 14" i'm sure this will be much smaller.
I would personally go for a 15.4" with WSXGA+ resolution to get the most out of the work I do, and multi-tasking abilities.
But if you need more portability, then by all mean the 14" with WXGA+ is not bad at all. But you will appreciate the great screens on the V1JP and G1. -
Higher resolution is much better for image editing. I've used a UXGA (1600x1200) 15" for the last 4 years and love it. The only downside is that when I'm web browsing in Firefox I often have to press "ctrl +" to make the text a reasonable size. No big deal.
Milestonepc or anyone that can answer, if the screen on the V1JP=G1 and they are better than the F3JP, then where does the A8 series fit it as far as quality? How do the Asus screens compare to a typical consumer notebook like the HP dv2000t or 6000t?
I found the screen in the consumer notebooks not bad, though not very bright except the Sony FE. I found the Dell d820 UXGA and the Compal HEL80 (both matte) to have sparkly gray whites. Do the Asus screens have any sparkly whites? That's what I'm most worried about when buying a computer without seeing it. Thanks.
Edit: Here's a photo of the A8JP screen with text on it.
