Looking to get a 14-15" laptop for something smaller. I play WoW a lot and want it to be able to handle that. How is the video card in the WSJ?

Anything you would add to the laptop? Looking to order by the end of the week.

Any other models or brands i should consider also?

    Thanks!

I play WoW on my W3J without a hitch. Mind you, WoW isn't the most GPU intensive game but the X1600 can play it at the highest settings smoothly.

the gpu on the W3J is a x1600 256mb- 512mb hypermemory. Its a great gpu and quite powerful. I play cs and oblivion on it, both on high settings without any problems.

The W3J is definately an good laptop, good looks. The warranty is ASUS Global warranty.

The W3J features a modular bay, this means there is a bay in which you can interchange from a DVDRW, 2nd HD, and modular battery.

So if you were to take a long trip and want a lot of battery life, then use the modular bay battery and you'll have the main battery 3.5 hours max, and the modular 1 hour.

If you need more space, buy the hard drive housing and you can buy a second hard drive and use it.

Originally the W3J comes with a DVDRW, in which you can interchange between them all, whenever you want it.

The X1600 256mb in the W3J roughly gets 4000 3DMarks05 and roughly 1900 3DMarks06. It is very powerfull, and since the screen is 1280x768, most games would run quite nicely at good settings.

How much would the modular battery cost? And would it add significant weight to the notebook?

The modular battery bay costs about $120 USD. I'm not sure about the weight though.

So for the same price as the modular batt, I could get a spare main that will last 2.5 hours longer?? I can deal with the inconveniece of turning the computer off and on to switch the main batt. Modular batt seems like a bit of a waste IMO.

Well if you carry around another battery thats like another lb. With the modular bay, you can take out the DVDRW reducing the weight to 5lbs then put in the modular battery bringing it back up to 5.5lbs. If you had an extra one it would be 6lbs if you took out the DVDRW and put in the travelers drawer, and 6.5 if you left it. And thats getting heavy. No more thin and light.
