My budget is only 1499, but should I wait for the new one? WIll it be worth the wait?

If you need a notebook now then buy it now. No sense in waiting since the next model will always come sooner or later. Unless the new model has something you really like to have.

I tend to side with... the new one will be better than the old one. It's a win win - new one will be better, new one causes old one to be cheaper. Wait it out.

Thing is, I think the new one is going to float at the $2000 price point since G1S floated at that when it came out.

And, the G1S-B1 right now is $1499. So it has already dropped $500 and I know it might go lower but I don't think it'll go lower by more than $100-150. So it might end up being $1250 soon but I don't know because it's still a sick gaming laptop.

Any comments? (this is all just speculation....anybody wanna speculate?)

    Well,

if I were you, I'd definitely wait for the new model...

So, I think you should try to wait at least 1 month before you buy it... and If the new G1S model were not avaliable yet... stick with the old one... Perhaps the price would be even lower then! ;)

Yeah... and by the time the new model has arrived, there's one just around the corner with a better GPU and a faster CPU and perhaps 20GB more HDD... and then when that one arrives, there's maybe another one scheduled to be launched in a few weeks...
    you get my point...

As it was covered in a different thread and proven by some evidence gathered from different on-line sources, it can be safely said that the new G1 will have no ground breaking technological improvements. The GPU is only SLIGHTLY better than the current one (its the GeForce 9500GS which is a lower-mid range GPU), the CPU is the new Penryn (with very little improvement over the powerful T7700 - a couple degrees less in terms of heat, a couple more minutes of battery life and slightly better in terms of speed). There is ABSOLUTELY no reason to pay 2000 dollars for a system that is only SLIGHTLY better than what you can have for $1500.

Get the G1S-B2 by the way :)

G1Snoodle, your signature is obviously too wide.. i had to scroll sideways to see some post. Pls fix.. thx..

    Back to the G1S.
Like all others said b4, if u need it now, buy it now. I dont expect the next gen gpu to come in the next 3 or 4 months time. (Since desktop parts arent even out yet)
