Hey all many of you know that I've already done way too much to this lappy. Well I'm going to go a step further. Waiting for the 4650 to come out. I don't see how the n81 and n80 are any different other then the video card. So I guess I'll be the pioneer. If anyone could link me to where I can purchase the GPU, I'll be more than happy to purchase it and post a how to video. Thanks! -Shini

I am afraid that it will be very really difficult to buy such a new type video card..
only possible way i think is buying the card from asus manufactor or distributors through some internal relationships..and the card will be at least $200.

Are you suggesting you are going to swap GPU's?

    This is madness!

Actually it will void the warranty.

Regardless of Asus selling the same stuff as a so called different model which really is no different, if a end user changes anything in the system other than offical bios, ram, or hard drive the warranty can be considered void.

CPU and video cards are the number one warranty voiders.

So if your going to do you better make sure any thermal grease you use looks the same as their OEM stuff and that if it has any warranty stickers on it better be real careful to get them off and back on without any breaks.

And should the notebook fail you will have to do it all again to restore the original parts as they wont accept it for warranty repair if its not the same as when you bought it.

They dont even officially support helping you if you have Vista problems and it came with Vista Home and you put ultimate on even though we all know the core parts are the same...

    Companies are a pain.

It should be your warranty is void if we can prove without doubt you damaged or caused the damage or your part caused the damage.

Plenty of us are more then skilled enough to change parts, most better than asus, haha

Yeah... but they do have a point on some things, they're here to make a profit but they also need to cut back on all the people doing dumb things to their laptops that's why they have these 'rules' or they would be massively abused (Asus and any other company for that matter).

There are no warrenty stickers on the gpu and if your going to do a replacement, just store the stock rubber thermal stickers? The only thing with a warrenty sticker is the cpu.

he is right shin knows what he is doing.

The 4650 stock should be getting what you are getting with your overclocked 9650 or really close to that...
