Been looking for a place in Houston, TX to try out an ASUS G1s before buying and am having little luck. The Asus website lists stores that don't carry them or only carry them online.

I would like to see this thing in person before buying.

    Any help?

    Much appreciated.

Best Buy carries them, you can call the one in your area to see if they have them in stock. Also, check the resellers list to see if there are any near where you live (that aren't big brands) then call them, they will be able to bring one out to the floor for you, probably.

If there isn't a dealer nearby, then most likely you are out of luck. Perhaps if there is a G1s owner in your area and you ask nicely, they could take some time to meet up at a Starbucks or something :p

BB carried(note past tense) the G1p, the G1s they should too but the question is when and where.

Thanks. I'll drop by best buy and go from there. I want to check out the screen and compare it to that on a MBP. I am also curious as to how repulsive the gaming lights look.

lol, yeah you can turn those lights off you know.

I love the black finish and everything of the G1S in the end the C90 wins me over with the combo of both looking sleek and professional at the same time.

another big topic on the boards if the F8, its going to be very close to the G1S I think in specs but boast a more professional look. So maybe sit tight and wait for more info on that.

The G1s is already out, the C90 should be out within a week or two.

About a month ago I talked to the BB in my area, and they said they would have them in stock in two weeks (i.e. two weeks ago).

The G1s was released about a month ago and the C90 was released today.

I live in Pelham, NY (right outside NYC) and the Bestbuy next to me has a G1 on display not a G1S so you might want to see if the Bestbuy's near you have a G1 or similar laptop just for an approximation of what the G1S is like.
