I want to wait a year until after Win 7 has been around a bit before I purchase a new ASUS. I am assuming in a year form now there will be design changes to take better advantage of Win 7's features.
My laptop is just 3 years old. Since ASUS itself serviced it (put on brand new screen, soundboard because of stuck headset jack) -- it has been working great.
So I want to renew my extended warranty for 1 more year but Proportable -- my reseller --went out of business not long after I purchased my laptop.
Fortunately, ASUS stepped in to the breach to fix my screen issues. But they do not sell anything. They say I have to go through a reseller.
Any suggestions?

I don't think you can do anything in that situation. For the reseller warranties, you have to have a "reseller" where you have purchased your laptop. ASUS will only give you the factory warranty... Once that is over, it is over.
You may want to talk to other resellers and ask for a warranty to your laptop but I think that will not be possible...

Extended warranties can only be applied within 90 days after your notebook purchase. Unfortunately, you won't be able to renew your 3 year old notebook.
