Yes, it is possible to upgrade.
-
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Understand, however, that your Asus warranty coverage is *null and void* should you do so

QGNG is the final ES revision of the QX9300. It is identical to the OEM and retail QX9300.
QGMU is the final ES revision of the Q9100. It is identical to the OEM and retail Q9100. -
so both are the best final ES version for this type of CPU?
-
but the 1 im wondering is, ythe QX9300 is 2.53 but shown in the bios are 2.4 only?

Yes, both are the final ES revisions for those CPU's. Essentially, those are the OEM version, but with a different spec label.
I don't know why the picture in the eBay seller's page shows the QX9300 @ 2.4GHz, nor do I care or want to think about why it is so. All that matters is that those two ES CPU's are identical to their OEM counterparts. The QAVR and QAVS in the thread I linked you to are also the final ES revisions for the Q9200. -
i've wanted one of those qx9300's down the road after my bb warranty expires, but has anyone confirmed/denied the use of quads in the best guy G71GX?
-
so which processor you recommand me? im wondering which 1 is the most stable..... i know QX9300 is the best, but im scare it is not stable....
-

If your G71GX can accept a Q9000, then it can accept the QX9300. -

First you need to ask yourself why do you need to upgrade from the Q9000. If I'm not mistaken, Asus allows a 15% FSB overclock, meaning that your Q9000 has a peak speed of 2.3GHz. If you buy the QX9300, you would have up to 2.9GHz, which is ~26% faster from 2.3GHz.
All three CPU's that you are looking at will run stable in the notebook. However, the question is whether it will run cool or not. -

The 15% FSB overclock doesn't work on quads, sir Soviet. He will have to resort to SetFSB.
-
Go ahead with ebay. I did an upgrade on my laptop from T9400 to T9900 and so far it has been awesome...

Ah, I see. Then through SetFSB will he need to overclock. -
i tried before for the overclocking from SetFSB, Q9000 can reach 2.6. no heat issue at all. what i mean stable is, the 1 we buy from E-Bay isnt OEM versio, im scared that it isnt stable....
-
I wish there was a way not to void warranty doing this

That's why you stress test it. In my book, if it's good for two hours, it's stable. But most people like to put a full 12 hour stress test on it.
Have a certified reseller install the CPU for you. -
QGNG or SLB5J better? QX9300
