Anyone know if Asus is changing their standard warranty? I was shopping around on Newegg and Amazon the other day and noticed more products only showing 1 year warranty plus the 1 year ADP. I'd probably still consider Asus for my next laptop anyway, but the 2 year warranty was always such a nice perk. I know Asus laptops at Best Buy somehow transform into only have 1 year, but at Newegg and Amazon that usually wasn't the case.

Yep, that is pretty interesting. I noticed the same change on newegg for some ASUS models too.

From what I can tell only the X models seem to have the 1 year warranty, much like how the BestBuy ASUS X models were crippled with a 1 years warranty instead of the 2 years standard ASUS global warranty.

Well on the bright side it appears the next U30JC will still have a 2 year. Unless JR.com is lying. That was probably going to be my choice regardless.

Yes, as I mentioned before. The one year warranty only seems to be limited to the X models much like how the BestBuy X models have always been and doesn't reflect the A or B models which still seem to have a 2 year standard global warranty.
