Is it possible to get an onsite warrenty for the G1 or from a website I can buy it from.Thx
-
Unsure what you mean, there is already a warranty from ASUS, but its only a standard one, nothing like onsite or 24/7 because ASUS isn't a large corporation.

I want to know if asus has an onsite warrenty or if there a place to buy the G1 that has a warrenty with onsite.
-
Not that I know of. Asus doesn't have a on-site warr anty, and most of the resellers that offer their own customer support won't come to you to fix it. You'll send them in, but Asus or the reseller will most likely cover your express delivery.

Your question seems a little awkward, but i'll try to shed some light on it.
As you already know ASUS has a warranty system in which if you need to have your laptop for repair you would send it to the nearest ASUS service center.
Now for onsite service, this is a little more complex since, Resellers would be the one providing this service, not ASUS, since ASUS uses the RMA system.
So generally you would have to talk to a reseller, who will give you their warranty in which has onsite warranty.
In anycase, why would you want that? ASUS North America has a good reputation with customers and repairs. -
The difference would be down time. When I worked IT we would have next business day on site service (contractor comes with the proper parts and fixes it right there). Down time is minimized although it is an expensive option.

Well, loopty, Asus North America seems to fix up your notebook pretty fast too. I've heard of occasions when someone picks up the broken notebook on Sunday, and its back by Thursday. If you ask me, that's pretty good timing.

It all depends on what your needs are. By no means am I knocking Asus' service. On site service is more often a business option, people that can't tolerate down time and are willing to pay for it. For example back in the days a 3 year next business day no questions asked coverage ran for up to $400. Not many consumers would be willing to pay for that, especially if their machine cost <$2k. What Asus' offers right now is what the majority of us, individual consumers, are willing to pay for. If it wants to penetrate the business market it (or the reseller) will have to eventually offer on site services. On a side note, on site services are usually contracted. The techs that go out and fix Dells don't directly work for Dell.
