Was thinking of getting the brand new X75A, does someone know if the lid is aluminum ?

X75A-DS51 for full specs it's right here: Amazon.com: ASUS X75A-DS51 17.3-Inch Laptop (Black): Computers & Accessories

I never bought a asus laptop before. I only bought Dell's before. Was wondering if you guys could tell me if the lid is made of some kind metal and also where the keys are if the surface around the keys is metal too. I'd be surprised if it would plastic. But wanted to ask here first before I bought. Even though many have not bought this particular model, but many of you have would a good ideal.

I looked a little here at the forums to see if anybody is talking about this model I didn't find threads about. I guess cause it's too new ? I'm planning to install Windows 7 on it, if I get it. It looks like a good laptop.

I think this one is made of ABS plastic. Aluminum or magnesium alloy chassis are found most commonly on ultrabooks, and the carbon fiber cases are pretty rare, mostly found only on very high end, ultra portable or business-end notebooks.
