    Nice
I got a cheap bottle of wine aged 3 years which tasted like vinegar for new years. At this point i am not sure if they suposed to send us appreciation gifts or we suposed to sent to them. I love their Rma girl Mila. She is so helpful. I have to send her a bottle of vodka or something. J do you senjd em appreciation gifts? Is this aceptable or would they consider it weird? I dunno how else to thank the rma guys there. Just so extremely helpfull and willing to go along with the dealers. Cant say they know their stuff but they do go out of their way. I actually had one of the rma guys (behind the scenes) daughter order a barebone last week. It seems asus does not offer employee discounts??

Congrats to Justin and the rest of ProPortable. Keep up the good work.

I have lots of recommendations for good, inexpensive wines. Seriously, I go to tastings all the time. I prefer rich reds (zins and cabs) to most others but I do have a discerning palate.

Don't drink the WINE!!!!!!!!!! Just display it I guess... I know I certainly didn't drink it... A bottle of wine labeled "Asus" doesn't wet the pallet.....

On a side note, it's been suggested to me from someone there that I get a certain someone gifts and this an that.... to which I responded.... I said the profit they make off of the hard work we do should be enough.... and honestly it should be. They're just doing their job when they're dealing with you and its nice to tell them you appreciate it, but I don't know if I'd go beyond that.

As far as Asus employee's buying outside of Asus..... I have it happen all the time. Or I should say... "buy" I'm often asked to "send" them certain things... like the white M5 chassis Taiwan let me order.... they "asked" for one of those as a gift to someone there.... But apparently Asus employees themselves are entitled to only 2 employee discounts a year... that's a motherboard and a grpahics card... or a wifi router........ So then most of them come to us when they need a pocket pc or a notebook...... I guess it's just how it goes..... the guys in the kentucky repair facility seem to be the ones who do this the most.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Defenitly congrats, although I haven't bought from you guys yet, I only hear good things from all the customers so far. Trying to convince my parents to allow me to get an Asus so far, but I believe i will only end up with a simple HP.

It's a hard fight, but if you know all that's good about what Asus makes, you'll have more ammunition to convince them. But the bottom line is.... I guess they're paying for it and if it's an HP or no computer at all...... an HP it is, right? So..... if you want any of us in this forum to say write up a comparision between what you're looking at an HP that they're willing to spring for..... just give us the info.

Not all HPs are crap. They just sadly seems to have forgone all models with dedicated graphics lately. I remember not too long ago when HP had totally droolworthy systems like the nx7010 in their lineup.

Good luck convincing your parents that Asus is the way to go, but if you can't; the dv4000 series, for example, is a fine little system (except for gaming) for not too much money.

And to get back on topic: Not a huge fan of crystal nick-nack, but that plaque was pretty nice. And if Eddie wants to quench his disappointment of not getting one with wine, I'd suggest a Tempranillo (Spanish). It's summer, after all, so a 'fruity' wine should be the thing.

At least the plaque was something that could be hung on the wall... It's not easy to tell scale from the picture, but that plaque is about 10" x 7" and that crystal thing is just a tad smaller..... it's funny... it doesn't look cheap in person, not quite sure how it comes off in a picture but it's nice with sandblasted letters.......... certainly not something I would buy or even want as a gift.... but when it's in recognition of something you did it's pretty cool.
