    Hello, anybody, somebody

Nothing seems to work for me, I think I tried everything except reformatting my laptop.( don't want to go there)

I tried "Acer Extensa 5210 Chicony Webcam Driver 5.7" that DylanBennett recommended, but I did not get past step 5.

My ASUS has a built in USB 2.0 1.3M UVC WebCam.It randomly stopped being recognized by my computer.

Anything that uses the webcam acts as if I do not have a webcam installed.
    (lifeframe,skype,messenger,...)

I checked the device manager its not even listed there( which is strange)

I used the ASUS CD, driver & utility but neither that worked (wonder if didn't do it properly)

    help much appreciated.

I had problems with the chicony webcam in my G73, i had to disable UAC completely for the driver to properly install. The device should still be listed in the device manager either as an unknown device or as an imaging device, if it's not there, the issue is most likely a loose cable or dead hardware.

thanks for the help, my guess is its probably a dead hardware by now.
