    Hullo!
    With Asus laptops, are you given a recovery cd / the ability to create recovery discs, or are you solely restricted to a recovery partition?

    P.S. Is the "ASUS A6km Q013H" a built on or an ensemble notebook, or neither? [The Faq confused me on that matter.]

    You are given a recovery CD by ASUS plus the recovery partition.

    They actually include both. When you get the computer most are formatted with a second partition that can be used for recovery. I deleted mine, but I have used the recovery disk several times to restore windows. You should be white happy with the setup.
