Hello everyone, I just have a friendly question.
My G73-A2 runs fine, plays games, views the web all right, and the sound seems to be in "check."
This is where my problem has started. I was playing SC2 beta one day, while on Ventrilo talking to my friends. When suddenly the noise started crackling. People's voices, and the game audio would be acting up, going high pitch, then low pitch, then it would make a "Wha-tffft, wha-tffft" sound and after a while it would go away.
Some example:
People's voices would turn into alvin and the chipmunks, then next thing its so low pitch and then it fluctuates to high pitch again. It lasts for about 10-20seconds by that time I have disabled all audio from game, and reconnected to ventrilo. Only to still hear people talk like the chipmunks again and then going low pitch. It was not my friends using voice changers, because I just played w/o Ventrilo and it happened during my gaming on SC2 beta.
Even without SC2 beta the problem still occured, even while youtubing, or on Firefox, I would try to get some kind of other audio, and it would sound completely incomprehensible.
Now, I'm not pointing fingers again at Asus, but lots of people seem to be having problems because of the Audio HD or Creative (which I think may be the culprit).
Some possible fixes I have done:
Restarts, it happens at least everytime, but it takes a while for it to occur, like 1-3 hours. I switched the USB-port which my headset was attached to another USB-port. I also have disabled in device manager High Definition Audio Controller (there were two so I disabled both)
My specs:
G73
Creative Fatality Headset
I have not done a clean Windows 7 install because I was not given a recovery disk, and I'm quite nervous when it comes to fiddling with BIOS and what-not. Also, I'm not very familiar with updating drivers in particular.
I may need to update my drivers, but can someone tell me how? I know where to get it on the Asus support site, but I don't want to touch it without at least knowin first what I might encounter during the update. (I have updated my GPU driver, but that's about all I know.)
Thank you.

Also I want to add some more information, the sound is like a warp, it slows down and speeds up sometimes. Pretty much like a DJ rewinding a track then turning the tempo up to max afterwards.
If I install the new realtek drivers from Asus do ya'll think it will fix the problem? If it is the USB's should I install the chipset drivers?
Thanks
Weird sound problem
