Just need to know the HD manufacturer and model #. If its a Hitachi 5k160, it won't work in my enclosure :(.

    Thanks!

When you order a machine, it's entirely up to the manufacturer which one you get. If I order a 100GB@7200RPM drive, I don't know if I'm getting a Hitachi or Seagate until the day I get it. Order a 80GB@5400 drive, and it could be any one of five or six brands that might arrive at my door.

Both Seagate and Hitachi make 160GB hard drives, so there's no way to tell until you get it. If you already have the machine, download and install a program called HD Tune to find out what you have.

if you already have a machine i suggest you check by going to the device manager and checking properties of your disk drive or if your ordering as night 2004 has said its almost impossible to know what your getting

Pulling up Device Manager results in ST9120822AS. A Google Search on this results in this. Seems about right...

That is the same as my A8Jp I got last week, ASUS has it now, they are replacing it with a new HD because the original made clicking sounds when it was in use.
