What can an eee do?

Hey all, I was just shopping around for a little netbook too take on planes and such, and I was just wondering what can a netbook actually do, in specific the most id ever ask of it would be watching youtube maybe 4 or 5 tabs open in IE and maybe a music player in the background. Would that be too much too ask? Thanks alot

It can do a lot of things: Wordpad, notepad, task manager, IE with 1 tab only, Firefox with 2 tabs.
If you want to play game, it supports solitaire and mine sweeper.

Looking at your sig, I am assuming that you own a G1S-A1. Do not expect any eee to perform even 10% of that machine.

Single core Atom CPUs have problems with HD youtube vids.

Apart from that, I would also think about 2gb of ram.

lol thanks guys I suppose that should be ok I'm, building myself an i7 950 with dual gtx 480's as a desktop so I dont need anything for games, lol.

and too be honest... mine sweeper is pretty fun.

Netbook is good to surf the net, read and write documents, older games.
I went with the longest battery life one atm. available.
Got an alfa external wifi card with 8dbi antenna and can find inet at most spots I go.
Booting win7 ultimate and ubuntu.

If you want hd video playback you will need netbook with nvidia ion and that will cut in the battery life hard.

I dont think hd really makes that much of a difference on such a little screen standard def is deffinetly good enough for me, as long as its better quality than air newzealand movies jeez. lol.

I run windows 7 on my 1005hab,chrome,10 windows,it's fine!

 

10 windows of IE8 on atom with 1GB ram is also fine. Low bit rate 720P h.264 videos are also perfect without any broadcom cards.

 

Just bought it! ill tell you all how I like it when it arrives, 3-8 days.
