I just came back from classes and when I opened my laptop half the screen was dead, as in it's all funky but I can click on stuff from that side and the drives are fine. Is it possible to fix the screen or do I have to buy a new laptop and if I do have to buy a new laptop, which model that can be used to play games casually would you recommend? Here's a picture taken from my iPod to show how bad it looks.

The screen may be able to be replaced with a new one. Which model computer do you have? If you can get HWInfo installed you can run that and see the make/model of the installed screen.

As long as a compatible replacement screen can be found, you can swap your screen out for a working one. If you need to have a professional do it, prices on parts and labor will vary. You might be able to save yourself some $ by purchasing the screen yourself first (just make certain that it's a compatible screen!).

Thanks for the replies, the model of the laptop is R500A. As of now ive hooked it up to my tv so I can still work and do other things on my laptop.
What do I do if my laptop screen breaks and how can I fix it?
