Flush touchpad/aluminum surround - really does keep things from getting grimy

    Weight/size - it's tiny!

I have the Z63a (W3a) : The look, it's just beautiful ... the build quality, it's just awesome, the screen, one of the best I've seen on a notebook.

The higher bang-per-buck nature of it, also the build quality for such a small price.

    What's not to love?

Personal preference would have to go to the unparalleled build quality. I reckon if it came to it, this thing might even stop a bullet :D as if i'd ever want to find out though...

modular bay for the win! :)

It's also fun when people are impressed and ask "what kind of laptop is that?"

the look on people's (read: nerds') faces when I pull out a 14" laptop and play oblivion with HDR at native res...

In other words, having a serious powerhouse that I can unplug and easily take with me for a day of class. That and having a laptop that no one else has.

    I love Asus' notebooks' looks.

Just look at the W3J, A8J, W2J, V6J, all them all, so nice looking. None of the other companies offer notebooks with such nice looks.

I do enjoy the "that's a really tiny laptop!" and "what brand is that?" that I get all the time.

And being the only one here with my laptop... That was a big deciding factor. Although I met a guy with an M5n the other day, so not so much anymore.. His seemed to be a bit darker in color though, maybe because it's an Ensemble.

I love the looks and build quality. It's been a year now and still strong, no loose parts or squeaking yet. Oh yeah gotta love the high resolution screen 1680x1050. Finally the price.

I love the looks, the larger screen resolution (1400x1050), the gaming ability at its small thickness (2.5cm) and the cheap price for the laptop.

Definitely the looks. I've said this many times before (I don't know if on the forum), most ASUS notebooks' looks make other brands pale in comparison. Put another way, the worst-looking ASUS notebook in a store still has a good chance of being the best-looking notebook in that store.

After the looks, it's the quality of the components are chosen (starting from the case materials, screen etc. down to the accompanying notebook mouse and carrying case for the ensembles).

Dude I feel your pain. Skipping has never involved so much guilt before...
Though the status of having the Asus is somewhat dimmed when everyone in your class either has a MB, MBP, or Sony SZ =S

    Mine's still faster though =D
