My friend wanted to buy a good laptop. Tigerdirect was offering awesome deals on this laptop: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4623267&CatId=1891

He got it. He wanted a laptop that would play "Demigod" good. Demigod's RECOMMENDED system requirements are:
Processor: AMD Athlon XP 3000+ /
    Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz
Display Card!: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 Series 256MB /
    ATI Radeon HD 2600 256MB
    Memory: 1024MB
    Free Disk Space: 8GB
Operating System: Windows XP SP3 / Vista SP1

As you can see, the laptop is a 1000% times better and should be able to play on max.

However, my friend says after 5 games, it lags and he says the laptop is a piece of crap and his desktop, which is an amd 64 3500 and a 8600 gt, is better then this laptop ( )

Does anyone know of any issues with the Asus G50VT-X1? It could be anything! Maybe he was playing on battery? Maybe the 9800m clocks were reduced somehow? Heck, maybe it's something wrong with the game....

I told him if he didn't like it, he should return it. What do you say?

I've never really had any troubles with mine, and I've gamed in Vista, XP, and 7 (x86 and x64).

The only thing that really comes to mind is that the graphics driver or the chipset driver is screwed up.

The chipset ought to be installed first, so your friend might check out the Asus download page (I would link it here, but they're undergoing maintenance).

Latest WHQL drivers are here: http://www.nvidia.com/content/Drive...otebook_winvista_64bit_international_whql.exe

Let me know if he figures out what's wrong.
