    I've seen this port on many other notebooks and even desktop graphics cards, I'm just wondering what it does and what it's used for?

    Sorry for the small picture, it was one of the only ones I could find, seeing I didn't know the name of it.

    Hi,
    I believe from the pictures that this is the S-video out port. It basically allows you to connect your computer up to older analouge televisions, and other recording equipment.

    Is it an output port? can data be transfered into it?

    Im afraid its output only, some notebooks do have the s-video in, but i cant think of any.
