Roughly a year ago I made a poll like this in the sony forums, When it came to upgrade Sony really had not met these but Asus had, so I swapped over, but what features would you like to see more of in the new Asus notebooks?

No amount of battery cells will save you if the overall power management is horrible.

Here's to seeing better battery life, LED screens, and high powered GPUs in 14" and 15.4" notebooks.

Also, please add "No more vaporware and heavily delayed launches" (XG station, F8Sv, etc...) to the list.

Dont think I can add options after the poll is started, but yeah looks like the two biggest things so far is better battery management, and LED screens

You can get a moderator or a super moderator to do that if the option is worthy of being added.

Battery life by far, especially on their ultraportables. Around 4 hrs. on a battery that does not extend out the back would be a good start.

definitely more true black color on their LCD instead of pseudo contrast ratio by increasing the whiteness leaving the screen look grayish. I'd rather have 1000:1 contrast ratio on the screen that can produce true black than a pseudo contrast ratio of 3000:1 when they increase the whiteness to get 3000:1 ratio. My U6S has backlit display but the screen cannot produce true black and thus look grayish

I would like to see more led screens and definitely better battery life for 14 and 15 inch laptops. Oh yeah one more thing and less plastic and more carbon fiber/metal on the laptops.

Support for XP. I just bought a G2S and have had a hell of a time with Vista. I figure there is a conspiracy theory between Asus and Micro$oft that they won't support XP on their new laptops. Total BS - any laptop you buy, make sure there are XP drivers so that you can at least resort back to a somewhat stable OS

Just a couple of thngs you missed....

    Illuminated keyboard

High End CPU's Asus normally price point so use mid range CPU we should at least have the option of using the fastest cpu.

Swappable DVD bay (travellers Draw) whatever you want to call it that can be used for HDD or second battery, I currently have a 250gb HDD in my W3J multibay and with a 250gb installed as my main drive, that whopping 500gb in a 14'' notebook!

Well I considered putting driver support for XP but there really isnt a reason for them to do that, it would be likem also offering drive support for W2K and other older OS's, You can always get the drivers from the original parts manufacturers like I did.

I also thought about the carbon fibre thing but I wasnt sure how to phrase it, hadnt thought of illuminated keyboards but yeah Id love that, Asus do have the modular bay in several of their laptops by the way, Mine hase it, one problem though, if you put the main battery and the modular battery in at the same time it kills the main battery, nice going asus :p

I'd like to see Asus implement this whole "battery life" concept. Its pretty nifty, really, when you think about it.

On a more serious note, when none of your larger-than-ultraportable notebooks can break 3 hours of run time, you have some serious issues. If you're like Alienware or Clevo and specialize in gaming notebooks only, then I guess its alright, but for what is a relatively well rounded lineup, its dismal.
