Proportable is no longer in business. Your best chance of getting your notebook fixed is through Asus, but you'll probably have to pay to get it repaired.

You could try and contact Justitia and ask if she still has their contact information and try and reach Sean (proportable), but I'd doubt that would work..... still worth a try though.

Justin was selling a 5 year warranty? That's wierd, as I recall their extended (in house) warranty topped out at 3 years -- doing something to 5 years risks needing parts that are no longer available and can't be obtained..... And if you read the whole thread through you'll see that Justitia didn't exactly have a successful experience with Sean either for what she needed done.

Your other option would be to contact Eddie @ BTOTech.com - they do quite a bit of out of warranty work on Asus units, but obviously you would have to pay for it. Easiest way to reach him is by PM (Geared2Play.com). Good luck.

Justin never sold 5 year warranties.
Your 3 year w3v warranty would have expired now already or on the verge of expiration. At that time asus did not include warranty docs. the dealer was required to keep the files. If you have no dealer then you have no warranty however you should call asus with your receipt anyways. You will need to speak to a rep that was around in 2005 and there are only 2 of those reps left.
