What is Asus G50vt-2d? And possible G50 BIOS 208!

I found a forum on asus for a G50vt-2d... what in the world is this notebook!? Better not be a replacement/upgrade to my vt-a2... lol

They have a Bios 208 for G50v's and it said something about express gate working with raid systems!?

Any thought?

I kind of confirmed that its for at least the G50v notebooks as the bios 207 they have is the exact same as the one asus has...

Cant say if this is for the VT's though as they dont have any bios posted for the VT notebooks... Asus has bios 205 listed on the VT site which is odd because the notebook only shipped with 207 but the 205 one listed is the same link as the V (non vt).

Makes me wonder if all these notebooks really use the same bios and it just detects what video you have and does somthing diffrent.

Anyway the express gate part will be cool if it works with raid now... Anyone with a G50v want to try this 208? Again I am almost sure it will be fine on a G50v, but I cant say if it will on a G50vt.... Mine is a VT so dont want to try.

 

G50V and G50Vt does share same BIOS, ExpressGate still not work on RAID mode with BIOS 208.

 

How do they share the same bios if they have diffrent video cards though? i thought the video bios was in the system bios? I would think the file should be bigger for both?

What else does 208 do? Why do the mention express gate and raid and it does nothing, lol.

Any idea if they fixed some other minor issues? I dont want to upgrade if all they did was play with express gate which did nothing as you say. I do have slight keyboard lag issues that 207 somewhat fixed for most but its still got a little. Also my direct console does not OC so just in hopes maybe they fixed some things.

Also any idea what the 2d stands for?

 

It could be the VGA BIOS work for both 9700M GT and 9800M GS.
There must have some issues with ExpressGate when the unit comes with RAID controller.

Don't know what is 2D.

The latest BIOS for G50 is 209 not 208 and Asus will upload it to their server anytime this week.

 

Now they got a G50G... Anyone know what these new models are? G50G & G50vt-2d?

I hope they are some budget versions... I dont want to be more outdated now, lol... Watch them be some kick but version with DDR3 and smaller sized cases like normal 15" notebooks, lol.. That would me off. Or come with a 2.8Ghz, lol.

Oh well, such is life... Just find it odd that they got downloads and forums made for these two new models and cant find anything about them.
