Hey guys. I tried searching for this. Maybe I didn't search for the right words or use the right search methods.

What does power 4 phone do? I tried the ASUS website, but no luck. How does power 4 phone work? Does it work with cell phones? Can I have my cellphone calls routed through my notebook?

Kinda funny too, because if you have access to a phone jack one could reasonably assume that you'd already have access to a phone...

That's not even mentioning cell phones! :)

It is kinda like some Skype software, most people don't bother using, I know I don't. It is probably one of the programs you may want to uninstall, like Live Update, Norton, maybe Multifram and Splendid, maybe even power4gear if you are using 3rd party programs.

just wondering, if you use the asus recovery disk they provide with their laptops, does that install all the programs that the laptop comes with or can you pick and choose which ones you want//dant want? and if i were to do a clean install on a new laptop, is there a site from asus with all the drivers i would need for it?

Well, if you look here, EBE's guide to installing XP allows you to chose what you want to install.
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=81828

I have personally done this and tried it, it obviously works quite nicely.

I believe some have tried doing this with Vista, I haven't personally.

I have also installed Windows XP using my own CD, after installing I would put in the Driver CD that Asus provides and select the drivers I want to install. (I personally haven't done it with Vista yet.)

And yes you can get the drivers fromt the Asus website, I suggest that you get the drivers first, burn them onto a cd and label the drivers as you download them so that you know what your installing. And then format the PC and install the drivers. Good Luck

For the OP, heres what i believe it is.

If you have skype, you can plug in a regular phone into the phone jack on your system. Once skype is enabled and power 4 phone is on, you can use the physical phone as a mic and headset for skype. Also, when you receive a call, instead of your speakers ringing, your phone would ring. It essentially allows you to use a physical phone with skype.
