I have a big problem about my Asus G1S-A1. I upgraded my driver to 163.44 but nothing changed. Something drops my fps but I couldnt find it. In counter strike 1.6, I'm just getting 60 fps nothing more. At the other games, such as NFS Carbon, Fifa 2008, I couldnt play well it on max details. What is the problem??

    (I'm using Vista 32 bit)

Doesn't Counter-Strike's FPS lock at 60? Just wondering...

163.44 drivers work well. CS1.6 may be capped because of vSync.

To address the frame cap, yes it could be that CS 1.6 is capped at 60 fps or that v-sync is turned on. I know CS Source is not capped at 60 because I usually get between 200 and 300 fps with my 8800GTS.

Some video driver versions do improve your performance. Perhaps this one was just to fix some glitches. Even with a driver designed to increase performance, you are not going to see a massive jump in frame rates. Now if your frame rates are completely off of what other G1S owners are getting, then I would start to worry.

disable v synch in nvidia panel control, in steam video option too,a nd write in console fps_max 100 or max_fps 100, i dont remember.

For NFS Carbon i dont know, i have the same probleme, the game doesnt run very well. I have heard on Xp it runs better

I didnt want to make a seperate thread so I will add to this one. I downloaded the 163.44_forceware_winvista_32bit_english_beta drivers and when I go to install them I get an error stating that this OS is not Windows Vista 32 bit drivers. Yet under contol panel>system, it says my OS is Windows Vista Home Edition 32 bit. What might be going on here? This is being installed on a G1S-X1

You will get that error if the drivers do not support your video card. Download the modified .inf from laptopvideo2go.com then you should be able to install it.

I think you didnt follow the manual which shows how you install new drivers.

You can find it here, (for vista)

you got a laptop, if you're not happy with your fps, lower your settings.
