Is it at the beginning of your hard-drive ?
It's most likely the recovery partition of your laptop, and if you delete it, you will have to rely on your CD/DVD's to recover your Windows installation.
IMO it's better not to delete it as it can come handy especially that the pre-loaded windows on ASUS laptops has very little bloatware compared to the other brands. (But I must remind you that recovery program wipes out the parition that it will write to and can only write to the first two partitions).

And by the way, does this partition have anything to do with System Restore functionnality ?

I mean is it possible to turn System Restore off and still be able to "format" the C: partition using the Asus recovery (F9 when the computer turns on) ?

    Thx a lot

I want to repartition the HDD and install XP + Windows Server 2003 + Visto on same computer, so it is why I ask this, yes, it is on the front of the partition.

Any way that I canbackup this partition?

yes it is the system restore partition

it has 3 commands from f8 at startup

format c, format c and d, or format and repartion the drive into just c

it makes the drive fat 32 as well

if you have xp pro ghost will back it up.
