Hey everyone. I have just installed a x6800 in my C90S and ran a stress test the fans don't reach full speed until well past 70C eventually keeping the temp from going over 79C. This is done at 2.93 stock clock. What is the highest operating temp of the processor?

    Any advice appreciated, thanks

Mine has never gotten that high. The main thing I hate about this laptop is the heat. I had to install a fan on the bottom of it to keep it all cool, which is a pain.

Interesting! You ought to post pics of this extra fan might be a good idea.

I have done some research and some people think voltage is most important and some think temp is most important. I simply want to know if I can have max load temps of beyond 80 degrees at 1.325V, as I intend to find out how far it will stably OC. So far over an hour in Orthos (still going) at 80 degrees clocked at 3 ghtz!! :D

I'm pretty sure the certified temp for the X6800 is arround 63C....

And originally, there was a fan rather than a heatsink on the southbridge. I don't know why they removed it.

63 degrees! Lol when ever did a C90 processor under load perform that cool, even yours probably doesn't :p Oh well 77 degrees load @ 3.025 ghtz is my limit so far.. most likely going to do the vicious mod after all and get a laptop cooler, preferably one that blows air upwards :).

Also JCMS having bought the copper heatsinks to try out in the C90S they may have bought the fan back for the southbridge in the C90P as the GPU heatsink fills the complete space, had to be cut to size!
