    What is the onboard sound model number for the G50v?

    I can't find any information on it on ANY website, not even Asus'. I think it's some kind of Realtek model? Although I'm not completely sure.

    Running OSX on non-Apple hardware is against the Apple EULA, and not allowed to be discussed on this forum.

    try using Everest to find the model

    Download Everest, install it and in the program, click Computer and then Summary... there's a line even in the trial version that says what Audio Adapter you have.

    It's the best laptop I've ever used. If you want to do gaming/3d modeling/photoshop/etc it's the perfect laptop for it in the $1400-$2000 range. The G50vt has a better graphics card than the one I have because it's a newer model (and for some reason cheaper -_-) I sort of liked the trim, but I honestly don't even pay attention to it now. It'll stop bugging you after a while.
