My offered replacement has the following spec codes, and I was hoping someone might be able to translate what they actually mean:

    AS V1S COT7700/2BP5/3G/GE

    V1SN-4AAJ/8SS/V/T/WN/B/EA

I'm concerned about the screen resolution, but am not seeing anything there that gives away what it is.

I can't read much of it, except that it's probably a T7700 that you will get, and 3GB of RAM. V=Vista? Maybe a reseller will know more.

Why not reply to the email and before accepting, ask for the specs in human- (i.e., non-ASUS-engineer :) ) readable form?

They finally confirmed the res as 1680x1050 - despite first trying to tell me it was 1024x768!

    Cheers anyway :)

    I think it's very difficult to find a 1024x768 V1S, if only because it's a widescreen computer. :)
