NEW PROBLEM:
So, you know the buttons on the right hand side of computer? When you push one the screen on the left hand side of the monitor pops up, right?
Well i didnt even touch a button at all (I rarely do) and the touchpad enable/disable screen kept coming up and enabling and disabling my touchbad by itself.
THEN it just disabled it and left it off and i could not turn it back on.
But the other buttons on the side worked.. CPU was at 100 while this was happening. Everytime I disabled the wireless lan CPU would shoot down to about 2%. Turn the wireless lan back on- cpu went up to 100. Each time.
So I just turned off my computer with the power button.
Turn it back on. That blue screen comes on where it checks for problems. I let it do that.
Suddenly the screen turns BLACK and it makes this loud beeping sound. It sounded like I had external speakers and was playing a loud "beep" sound.
I was like "WHAT THE HECK" then thanked myself for not having important files on this thing yet.
So I pushed the power button again (I had to turn it off it was REALLY loud and the screen was blank). But it didnt shut off it just took me to the user menu screen then here I am.
Umm..??
I havent done anythng out of the ordinary to or with this laptop.
I am going to go scan for virus now but if this isnt a virus any idea what is wrong with my unit? Geez. I havent had this for that long!![]()

This happened once before when I first got it. But it is doing it again- what's wrong?
When I turn on my computer the resolution is at a weird size, then this pop up box comes up and has 3 options:
-Default
-800 x 600
- and that other res. i can never remember
Well anyway..yeah it keeps doing that. And the CPU was stuck at 100 when this was happening even when I rebooted.
I just ran ad-ware then rebooted again and CPU is back to normal but the same resolution screen popped up and my screen was all distorted..

It may be Power4Gear. Presentation mode of Power4Gear uses 800 x 600 resolution. Make sure that P4G is not defaulting to this mode for either mains or battery power. To do this, make sure that P4G is set to other modes for both mains and battery. (If I could figure out how to delete Presentation Mode, I would - it resizes all non-maximised windows down to 800 x 600 but won't enlarge them again).

Thanks..that must be it.
Because it first happened when I unplugged the comp and went into battery mode.
Power4gear is the battery thing right? -
Hmm it wont let me do any virus scan.
I tried several.
I will just turn my computer off now before anything else happens. -

The button on the right at the back nearest the power button is for Power4Gear. Normally, each press of the button lets you step through the P4G profiles (there is a different selection for battery and mains). I wonder if a button is stuck down and thereby causing problems on boot-up. Desktop computers normally beep if a key is stuck down so notebooks may do the same.
If you can get started, then try uninstalling the ATK0100 utility.
P4G is intended for power management. For me, its use is for automatically reducing display brightness if switching to battery.

Well this is weird.
I doubt a key was stuck. The whole computer went black and a very LOUD beeping sound.
Now, the volume up/down pop up screen pops up and the volume moves down by itself.
Um.. maybe my computer has a ghost.
What is wrong with my w3v?
