Bought a new laptop, Asus G51, but the darn thing keeps BSODing when I play CoD :MW and after looking around the solution seems to update the BIOS. Problem is that I'm not sure if I go by the notebook model number: G51J, or the motherboard version number: G60JX. Anyone care to set me strait?

Assuming you are running Windows 7 for BIOS update you need to go with the model number: G51J (vx or JX etc)
Note, IF you decide to flash the BIOS search this forum for tips, on my model (g73) a number of people Bricked their machines by using winFlash.
    . Good luck, Josea
