and are reliable and cheap, kinda like xoticpc, gentech or powernotebooks. please post all the stores you know.![]()

Most don't have worldwide warranty since they are an American store, so you have to check on that, it's usually North American warranty. Another risk is credit cards, international credit cards aren't usually accepted due to potential scams. Best to email them all and ask.

yeah the warranty is an issue, but since the only laptops go on sale in here(both online and in retail form) are usually dell and hp, even with worst configurations than in america and worst prices, i'm willing to take the risk.

I ordered my Asus G1s (Asus global warranty!) from excaliberpc.com. They're delivering from the US to me in Switzerland, so they at least do Europe. You can ask about their delivery in a forum they have there, and they accept int'l credit cards or wire transfer (I did this with an international payment using my bank).

i've seen that site, but you can't customize anything, right? it is kinda like newegg.com
the asus g1s they have comes with the 5400rpm hdd and i want one with a 7200rpm hdd. :/ -

anyone who customized a notebook from the ensemble line like the g1s should expect warranty overseas however the individual parts that were customized would have to go back to the states. do not customize the cpu!
some vendors do ship overseas. We used to ONLY allow bank wire from overseas customers. Short while ago we started allowing paypal confirmed address from the UK, canada and australia. Even those have to be approved once received though -
Not really my question, if it´s not I who missunderstood you.. Geared2play.
I wondered about ASUS guarantee, since I will prolly be forced to swith a 5400 disc to a 7200 disc myself, since the G1S only sells with a 5400 rpm disc here in Sweden. The same question goes for the ITM card with "turbo memory". -
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Asus global warranty is usually pretty forgiving about HDD and RAM upgrades not voiding the warranty (unless you fry something in the process
). If you upgrade the HDD, you should probably keep it in case you need to send the G1 in for service - you'll want to reinstall the 5400 before ship so the unit goes back to Asus with factory specs.
Don't know about the turbo memory, but early reports are that it has little impact for the majority of applications (except for Eddie's HDD test on the F3 posted here in the last few days). It seems that you'll likely get more boost from just adding RAM than Robson. -
any other suggestions? is excaliberpc the only one? :/
What online stores have global shipping? (that sell asus and/or compals)
