    Hi,

I have one of the Asus models that have the hotkey to enable or disable the touchpad. It worked when I had Vista but after upgrading to Windows 7 it seems to have stopped working. The other hotkeys work though. I've tried reinstalling the hotkey software and direct console but that doesn't seen to have fixed it. Anyone know what exact package is needed to get the touchpad hotkey to work? Thanks guys, I did try to search.

Go to the G71 page get the 5 ATK files and Install the ATKACPI Driver first then the others.

The Synaptics driver is good for the touch pad features but it won't make the touch on/off switch work. Only the ATK files will do that.

Thanks for the help, Solid71. I downloaded the Win7 64bit versions from the G71Gx and followed your instructions. The other hotkeys still work but the touchpad one still doesn't. It's almost as if there is some software piece missing.

OK, figured it out. If your other hotkeys are working, it probably means the ATK stuff is intalled OK. However, there is an Asus application that comes with the Synaptics driver install from Asus that has the hotkey button functionality. For the G70, I downloaded the latest dual mode driver from: ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/nb/Drivers/Touchpad/Touchpad_DUALMODE_VT_080818.zip This worked perfectly

    Thanks for everyone's help :)
