Just curious if there's any word on what the next iteration of what the Eee PC will contain?

    Specifically I'd like to see:

    (1) slightly larger screen (8" or 9"?) with support for at least 960x600 or 1024x640 (ideally 1280x800 - but may be a stretch)

    (2) faster CPU (maybe even current Celeron @ 900MHz) and/or dual core?

    (3) Intel X3100 GPU or equivalent

    (4) Pre-installed Windows XP - reduced size version specific to the Eee

It might garner $500 from my pocket for a 4G model then.

But that's just my wish list. What's realistic to expect, and when?

Well am sure if they add anything extra! kinda dual core with extra RAM or even more space! it wudnt be eee PC anymore. I hope they stick on keeping it simple and sweet rather than trying to add extras and thus loosing the real purpose.

I don't think its unreasonable to ask for a larger screen/resolution, faster CPU, faster GPU, and Windows XP. Normal course of PC advancement anyhow.

Windows XP itself would bump the EEE price close to $100. Maybe a Core 2 Solo or something that just breacks 1GHz and 512MB or 1GB of RAM. SSD size can stay the same and maybe a little longer battery life.

    1GHZ+ CPU
    512MB-1GB RAM
    4-16GB SSD
    8.9-10" @ 1024x768(or 640) res
4hours+ battery life (I'd grab a second battery in a heart beat.

Thats all it would take to make me happy and I'd pay $450 for it tops.

I think it would be best served if we can wait! till Q3 2008 till all the platforms stabilizes before choosing an ultra portable that would cost less than 500 EUR, I would not be surprised if we have AMD comeup with their own line of ultra low voltage, ultra mobile, what-ever they want to call it!! processors up the line!!
