Hi, I currently have an Asus z63a that I use most of the time on AC power. I use my laptop on battery about 5-6 hours per week and on AC about 3-4 hours per day. My question is, when I'm on AC, should I leave the battery inside the laptop, thus fully charged all the time, or is it better to leave it next to my laptop and only use it when I need it ? In the long run, does it damage the battery to be always in the laptop when on AC ? Thanks for your help.

You will find two opinions on this around here - first is to charge 40-60% and then pull off when not used, second is keep it installed and charged since the circuitry turns off when full. In the end, you aren't likely to see a major difference in terms of overall lifespan and you're probably going to have to replace it anyway in another year or two. Do whatever is most convenient for you - I leave mine in so that I don't have to worry about how much power might be in the batter when I'm mobile (I like a full charge when I leave the house).

Yep. I suggest you just leave it in, it makes no sense keeping it on the shelf it will lose life anyway, and probably not significantly less. However, it is recommended that you do a full discharge/recharge cycle (not too deep, only until Windows goes into standby, then resume and charge) once a few months, at most 2 months, let's say.

That's what I did with my previous M6Ne battery and it was giving 4 hours 15 after 1 year.
