I've been doing some research on DVD media and I wanted to know the exact model number of the slot loading Panasonic (Matsushita) DVD burner in my W2JB. Wow! I never thought this would be hard info to obtain but.....one site says I have a UJ-845, another says it's a UJ-846S but the new version is UJ-85J. There was a post on this forum a while back about this but I can't find it. Can someone help me out?

I started searching because I need some DL media and I wasn't sure if my drive could handle both. I have since learned that -R media is actually more compatible with more drives than +R media. Tayo Yuden of course being the best of the best.

Just go to 'My Computer' ----> right click your DVD drive and click on Properties ----> In the Hardware tab it shows what model your DVD drive is.

Doh, talk about a brain f*rt, I'm such a retard. That completely slipped my mind. FYI, it's a UJ-846S, same as the european W2JC model and capable of burning just about everything. Thanks folks for the heads up.
