This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    What's wrong with Asus VGA drivers site?

    I just can't get it. There are updated r5870m drivers available, but the package is broken. Yet they are adding new drivers, like the embedded intel ones.

    It hurts because there's a huge bunch of people who are struggling with various screens of death waiting for asus to react. And when it finally hit the shelves, it's broken.

    No quality control at all?

    I thought if there were updated GPU drivers for the G73 they would be listed under the G73 drivers page.

    I feel your pain. This is one of the "features" of Asus's website: they often don't update links to latest drivers for separate models of laptops, motherboards etc.

    This is why I go directly to their FTP for drivers and utilities. Also, for notebook utilities instead of going to my specific model I choose "notebooks->drivers->SomeDriver" or "notebook->Apps->SomeUtility".

    Also, the site can get buggy. For example, going to the G73JH download page will sometimes fine 65 items and a reload will find 70. Sometimes you click to expand a branch and the wrong one opens. I also found some archives corrupted.

    Yep, but you have to know what you are looking for. Not everything there works with the G73JH.
