I think they will be updated within a month or so, probably with the x1700 but I'm not sure.

Try the F3 line, at least one of them has an x1700, and others have a 7600, some even with 512MB.

Hope that's what you meant by class. Good luck with the availability though, it varies heavily throughout the world. As part of the Ensemble line they can release only certain builds (i.e. those with BT and those without) in certain parts of the world. For example, I'm trying to get an F3Jm w/ T7200 & WSXGA+ in the US, but the C2D isn't available yet, and the WSXGA+ may never come to the US.

Whats are the chances of them using a different card such as the 7700? Id prefer that personally over the x1700. Even though the performance increase is minimal.

What I meant by class is a "built on" model with a 15.4" screen and a discrete GPU. If the x1700 is the only big improvement in the next built on models, it doesn't seem that impressive. I'd like to see something with the z70va build quality and a better/more efficient gpu than the x1700....I have a feeling nothing revolutionary is going to happen until santa rosa is rolled out, and I'm ready to hold my breath for that long....

well upgrade gpu wise the only ones that you will be seeing will be either the x1700 or the 7700 (preferably this one) they cant put anything like a 7900 in a 15.4 chasis atm. Then there are the new dx10 cards coming out though no mobile versions have been announced, the power requirements for the new 8800 gpus are insane and have no chance of being put into a notebook. Midrange cards havnt really been announced (as far as i know) though they will come later after the initial release, though again...power requirements would be fair high im guessing and there is usually a time lag between when desktop gpus and notebook gpus are released.

You will probably have to wait for the same period as when Santa Rosa will come out...maybe even longer depending on if nvidia and ati will be able to bring down their power requirements, then the gpus will actually have to be put into the new systems by manufacturers, which will add to the time lag.

Im only going to wait for the 7700 if it comes out, its too long then since iv been waiting for 5 months already.

I'll be stunned if we see a mobile DX10 GPU in any laptop that weighs less than 4 kilos next year -even if you cut the number of desktop GPU pipelines in half to make the mobile part it's still gonna be way too many transistors...
