Since Asus notebooks are sometimes sold where one can customize some hardware, they look like a good candidate for obtaining an XP and Vista installation with no bloatware.

Could someone recommend the top 6 places to order one?

    Thanks!

I think the resellers still install the OEM disc onto the customized ASUS, so unfortunately the bloatware comes with it :(. That's what applied back in about January 2007 when I contacted MilestonePC. I don't know if it still applies.

First of all, where are you? Canada? USA? Europe? Asia? Its hard to recommend resellers until we know where you are so you get the least shipping costs.

www.1toppc.com has good price for the barebones

If you buy an all-made asus laptop like anyother brand, it comes with a lot of bloatware like any other

Gentechpc.com and PROPortable.com are other reputable Asus resellers.

I can't say I would recommend PP right now, it seems they're on an extended vacation or something, something must of come up that was important.

As for the OS, if it's customizing a barebone, you can opt for the OS which is OEM, so there will be no 'bloatware'. If it's a preconfigured ENSEMBLE, then there will be some on the OS, but a simple restore or uninstall via Control Panel can solve that.

Btotech.com is very reliable for asus laptop.

My friend brought from there and they shipped it the same day.

Thats the best site for bare bone and customize asus and really good price with free shiping.

Also that site is very reliable place.

I don't know what gave you that impression. I sent an email to PP asking about the V2S and got a reply from Sean within 3 hours.

No one from PP's posted here in a while though...I wonder if their NBR member deal is even active.

It finishes abit higher than gentech (1toppc.com) and there is not option for E6320 or 6420 nor 5400RPM HDD

@Bona Fide. Thatr's because their last update is like on april?
