I really want this computer and it seems like everyone on this forum who wanted one found it easily. I went to Best Buy in Daytona FL and they only carry the G51. Then I called a different Best Buy and they didnt have one either. Is it possible they could still get a shipment sometime soon or be available on the internet soon? If Im not mistaken this model was released to some best buy's today.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    Thanka!

According to another poster, Best Buy will officially start selling them on Sunday. You might want to check BestBuy.com come Sunday to see if it is available in your area. Best Buy will be the only company to offer this model (except for people who buy it from Best Buy then resell it to people that don't have access to a Best Buy).

It should be at all Best Buys. Just call them up and ask if they have it in their inventory. B/c dumb employees will check online and claim that they don't sell it. So make them look up on their store computer for the G71.

thanks guys for the fast response :)
Ill try again on Sunday to see if they are in.

Another question: What is upgradable on this computer? I read on this site someone was upgrading some version of the G71. And can a quad eventually be put it down the line?

Pretty much everything but the motherboard and GPU can be upgraded (however upgrading CPU will void the warranty). We suspect the G71GX should support quad-cores (as there are G71GX-A1 comes with a Q9000) but there are no guarantees that the Best Buy version supports quad-core processors or which ones it supports (I plan on upgrading it to a QX9300 after a while if it will support it).
