I am a Canadian and I wish to look into purchasing an Asus notebook. It would be much appreciated if someone could tell me the easist and most reliable way for a Canadian to aquire an Asus notebook.

Check the ASUS information booth sticky, huge list of dealers there.
-
Asus computers are pretty easy to find in Canada.
www.ncix.com (select Canada option)
http://www.canadacomputers.com
http://www.milestonepc.com
These are the 3 outlets I have been looking at. I went in last weekend to the Canada Computers outlet in Vaughn (north of Toronto) and the sales guy was very helpful. I didn't get the notebook I was looking at because I haven't made up my mind on Asus or any other notebook as of yet.
Hope that helps.

So Canada Computers is an actual physical store where you can buy Asus... not just an online reseller?

Yeap, though in the GTA only. As well, there are a handful of ASUS resellers in the GTA area with physical stores.
-
That's wonderful, especially since I live in the heart of the GTA... wow, I guess that makes me lucky?
-
Yea, though it's mostly in the downtown College and Spadina or the Markham area at PMall, 1st Markham Place, etc.
-
Check out the ASUS Canada website for canadian dealers/resellers:
http://ca.asus.com
CanadaComputers, Infonec, NCIX, and MilestonePC are some of the stores in Toronto that sell ASUS. I had a look at some ASUS laptops at the CanadaComputers store on Kennedy Rd. in Scarborough but they didn't have any demo models running Windows (some issue about registering the copy of windows).
However, just today afternoon I went to MilestonePC in Markham and was able to check out a couple of ASUS notebook models that were running Windows.
I haven't made my decision just yet, but if I buy an ASUS laptop it'll probably be from MilestonePC in markham.
Hope this helps.

Visit pacificnotebooks
at pacific mall if you live in the GTA..
it's at Kennedy and Steeles
i bought i g1s there they gave me a pretty good price too -
Is milestone in the US the same as in Canada?
-
Cheers, -
Directcanada.com also has some Asus. I ordered my C90S there, and all the other stuff I bought this usmmer.
As canadacomputers and NCIX they have physcial store (Vancouver for DC and NCIX).
directcanada offers free (random) shipping for orders above $300.
I got PUROLATOR AIR. They shipped yesterday at 11PM (GMT -5) and I received it today at 10AM but I wasnt there so I need to pick it up tonight =/ -
www.infonec.com is a good site too and they have stores in the GTA
-
Efforts at that have proven sadly fruitless. Emails, PMs, phone calls, etc... the one call I got through I was told that the California office was closed for remodeling "or something like that". I now know it's a family emergency thanks to digging around here... just didn't know if they were the same. -
you can go to hte place that you live by, but you wont save PST
so if you are comfortable buying online calculate the shipping charges vs if you were to be charged PST (if you know what i mean) and see what way is cheaper
but, i got mine from NcIX.com and they got my laptop to me, but ireally didnt have to deal with them, i bought online.
see if you can price match with another site though, i know when i bought mine i price matched and was able to get an F3SV-A1 instead of a F3SV-X1 for the same price -
Simple logic,
Province other than AB, BC -> NCIX
Province other than ON -> milestonepc, pcvonline, canadacomputer
That way you can "report/pay" your 7% PST "later" -
You'll never pay the PST...
-
Alright guys, I'm getting either a G2S-A1 or G1S-A1 tomorrow at Canada Computers Vaughn outlet tomorrow... I just really hope Canada Computers is a safe, reliable place to get a notebook from.
And a bit off topic, I can't decide the G2S or the G1S, help would be nice -
It's all on what you want.
Keep in mind that the 8600M GT won't be able to proporly play games in 1920x1200. -
I am not crazy about their prices though. Sometimes you'll find deals on specific computer components. As for ASUS laptops, I don't think they have very competitive prices. Infonec and MilestonePC both have better prices on ASUS laptops and both of those places are just as reliable/safe if not more.
Good luck with your purchase!

But a WUXGA can scale down easily to lower resolutions... right?
-
-
Grrr!! Can't decide between G2S or G1S... help!!:confused2:

Really? lol. I guess no one knows, even stores
I guess it would be a good idea I tell my father, so he doesn't put my online purchases in his tax report (he's an autonomous worker, everything is deductible lol, even the fryer he bought last month) -
o btw i forgot to mention this about pacific notebooks
just a month a ago my w5a had a crack on the side of the screen (WAY pass the warranty time period)
they still helped us send it in and had it repaired! :O that's what you call service
