I'm about to buy mine but can't decide from where. I would like to see some inputs of current owner's experiences. Thanks in advance.

i bought mine at excaliburpc it was one of the easiest purchases i've made, they shipped it out within 2 hours. haven't had any issues with it yet so i don't know about their service after the sale, they also have very good reviews on resellerratings.com

there's a few great reputable dealers on these boards.

I've looked at the boards but I also found some negative things about each. Mine two top picks are excaliberpc and xoticpc. Xoticpc will allow me to upgrade to 3 gb ram and 7200 rpm HD while excaliber is stock but a little bit cheaper with same specs.

I have 2 quick questions though.
    1. Do you just have have to unscrew the back to upgrade the ram?
    2. Does 7200 rpm make that much of a difference? I've heard that it does from some people and it doesn't from others. I would really like some opinions on this because I want to order this tonight/tomorrow morning.

any input would be greatly appreciated

I ordered from gentech saturday, got the confirmation call today (had to switch CC's, my debit card had a daily limit) and it shipped out already.

Nothing but positive thus far :)

gentechpc is on backorder on the 160gb 72000 rpm hd or that would be up there with my top picks

I need it by August 17th. Any chance that will happen? if not then should i just order later?

I ordered mine from XoticPC, I received the computer in exactly a week, there were no problems at all.

    About your questions:
    1. If you buy ram from the computer retailer, they'll install it for you. If you buy it from a third party, you'll have to install it - by unscrewing the back.
    2. A 7200 HDD reduces load times but decreases battery life. Choose which is more important to you.

How much of a differnce would the load time be? The 2 - 2.5 battery life is kinda low as is, but if the load time is worth it, then i am willing to make the sacrafice.

well i ordered form xoticpc with 2nd day shipping...wish me luck i hope i get it on time and before i leave

    Good luck with your G1S!

I purchased mine from Xotic and it was a great experience. I ordered a 120 GB 7200 RPM HD and the computer arrived in a week with everything installed and ready to go! I checked on my order just about every day either by e-mail or by phone, and everyone was always polite and heplful.

Hi, I ordered from Xotic also with an upgraded HDD like Stella's. Rick was always professional, and answered my many questions to put my mind at ease. I think I called him about 5 times before it shipped because I was unsure about all sorts of things and he was always calm and so courteous. Really a top notch company and personable service.
I ordered on 7/24 and it arrived today. I've been having a good time playing around with it and so far, it's exceeding my expectations. I'm really glad I choose Xotic Pc and the G1s. Good luck to you, Robin

I ordered mine from Lagoom.com, off the recommendation of PriceWatch.com.

At the time (week and a half ago) it was the best deal I could find ($1803 before tax and free shipping).

It was shipped 3 day select and arrived in 2 days. Great experience, good customer support.
