Well, I've about given up in my search for a GDDR3 8600m GT since they are non-existent now and my WTB thread isn't going so well. The 8600m GT DDR2 I have now is a terrible overclocker, must've gotten it in a bad batch or something. Runs stock and a small OC of 525/1150/475 stable day in and day out. If the room is to warm after about 3 hours of CoD 4 it will lock up but thats no problem. I was wondering where you guys got your 8600 from and what clocks you hit? Wether it be form a retailer like GenTechPC or a store like eWiz. Thanks for your replies.

On a side note...I'm asking because I've got an idea to help cool the 8600. I'm going to be using the one I have now as the guinea pig...and hopefully one that will clock better as the primary card. Thanks again.

I found the cheapest place to be thenerds.net

    http://www.thenerds.net/ASUS.NVIDIA_GEFORCE_8600M_GT_512MB.90C1CIZ5JXBN00Z.html

The price is now at $125. I bought one from them 2 weeks ago for $5 cheaper, but they ship fast and it really is a 512MB DDR GT not the GS. I would get it from there since their price for the GT is about the same as others for the GS.

As for clocks, I don't have that info on hand. I played about 30 minutes of COD4 and then 30 minutes of GOW on Overclock settings. The laptop got warm. Just make sure you are not gaming on the couch or carpet. Put it on a flat cool surface. I think the card is going to do the same no matter where you buy it. They are all produced the same way, so it's not like evga and BFG where they have different coolers.
