I was going to buy today from newegg but the price went up 100$ to $2,018.99. I'm not too familiar with available, reputable online retailers. Can someone give me suggestions on who to order from?.. I live in the United States.

I bought mine from Gentech. Even though I had a slight problem with the computer they have been excellent as far as customer service goes. (Ken was on here helping me and has been great as far as dealing with the problem.) I'd give them a try.

Check the ASUS FAQ in the sticky for a list of dealers.

3GB should be the best option (regardless of the "magic number" thing) for price and performance. 4GB won't be really necessary (or useful) for the average user or gamer until a bit into next year. I love the Momentus 7200.2, it comes the closest to emulating desktop performance in productivity and media tasks (zipping, encoding, image editing, that is what I have done with it [all at a brick and mortar =P])
