I've only come across milestone as the biggest one so far. Any other ones to look into?

Also have a quick question about replaceing the laptop's top panel/lid.

The plain silver is classy, but a bit tooo boring, can it be snapped out and replaced? Something darker :)

If you mean the S96j/Z96j, there are 'covers' for it, which Intel recommends(The Z96j is a VBI, the Z96j isn't but its apparently the same lid.

There is a list of resellers in the ASUS FAQ, stickied above.

Regarding the S96j and Z96j, they both have the same Lid design.

Here you can see the pics:

As for customization, you can get Panels in which you can stick on to it, within that selected region, where there are edges.

There are already preset panels with their own designs.

You can go to the extend in which you can create ur own design and then apply it for a nice personal touch.

If you have more questions regarding these models please ask.

So Where can I see these panels??
Also, I'm considering your ASUS S96j alot, cuz its the best combo of Intel Core Duo and ATI Dedicated, under $1500.

But I've never heard much about Asus, so I was considering getting some sort of extended warranty on it, but Im confused how a BOA would be covered.

    Thanks.

To see the Custom Panels go to http://www.intel.com/cd/channel/reseller/asmo-na/eng/products/mobile/vbi/271562.htm and then click on the "Image Library" link on the right of that page. You can also make your own artwork, and then take it to Kinkos where they will print it on the Custom Panel for you for $15.

Warranties are different with each dealer, particularly with VBI or BOA ASUS notebooks. The only way to know how each dealer's warranty policy is to read their warranty on their website.

As for learning about ASUS, there is a thread that covers that very well at http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=25849
