Yeah i plan on doing a lot of cd and dvd burning, and from past experiences, ive burnt so many that i have had to replace it several times.

So i need an external one. i have looked around and i would like a slim drive so its easy to carry.
i emailed the sales at pro portable but informed me that orders have to be more than 1k to ship to the UK

My suggestion to you wouldn't be to get a drive like this then. I understand what you're saying and for what you're doing I might suggest a nice desktop sized external.. they're cheaper, faster, and a lot more stable... If you think your notebook drive is going to get worn out (that's a lot of burning by the way), but this slim drive really isn't for hardcore use.. it's just to have something to travel with.. and to be honest with, I'd use the drive in your systema and if it dies, it's under warranty for at least 2 years and if you need to pay for it, it'll be about the same price as this external you're looking at.

There's a reason it's set up in our system as an "external drive for the r2h umpc".

Yes, about international sales... we started to limit those sales to roughly a system ($1,000) or more because of the cost of wire transfers and because most of our international customers prefer the cheaper Postal Service shipping... and that means we need to send someone to the post office with an individual package.. Costs on both sides just don't make sense, so we limited that.
